In a bold declaration that’s sure to shake political cages, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the recent wave of corruption-related arrests is just the beginning.
Speaking at a community durbar in the Atewa East Constituency on Thursday, September 25, as part of his Eastern Region “Thank You” tour, Nketiah didn’t mince words: more arrests are coming — and soon.
“As for the arrests, we’ve only just begun — we haven’t gotten far yet,” he told a crowd of chiefs, elders, and constituents. “Anyone who has taken advantage of the country’s resources or embezzled state funds must be held accountable.”
The statement comes amid a renewed government push to root out graft — and it appears the NDC is making it clear: no one is above the law.
While Nketiah didn’t name names, his message was unmistakable. Former government officials are firmly in the crosshairs for alleged embezzlement and mismanagement of public funds.
But beyond the political headlines,Mr. Nketiah called for unity and national support in the fight against corruption. Addressing traditional rulers, religious leaders, and the public, he urged a collective stand for integrity.
“We call on traditional leaders, imams, and clergy to support us, because we believe what we are doing will help heal Ghana and preserve what Dr. Bawumia himself admits was damaged,” he said, referencing the Vice President’s own admission of systemic rot. “Ghana must remain strong.”
The message was clear: this isn’t just about politics — it’s about restoring public trust and reclaiming Ghana’s moral compass.
