The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates.
In a statement issued on September 5, 2025, WAEC announced that the results are available online at www.waecgh.org, where candidates can log in to access their performance.
A total of 1,661 candidates registered for the private examination, made up of 858 males and 803 females, with the exams conducted at 15 centres nationwide. WAEC, however, reported that 33 candidates were absent.
The Council further disclosed that the results of three candidates have been withheld over suspected involvement in examination malpractices. Investigations into these cases are currently ongoing.
Candidates whose results have been withheld or cancelled are advised to visit https://litreg.waecgh.org and use the withheld/cancelled option on the homepage to access detailed updates on the status of their results and the next steps.
WAEC also cautioned the public, particularly candidates and their families, against falling prey to fraudsters who claim they can upgrade results for a fee.
“WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated,” the statement emphasized, reiterating the Council’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity and credibility of its examinations.
