Vice President Donates to Komenda Ahead of Nyeyi Festival

The Vice President’s Office has donated assorted items to the Komenda Traditional Area in support of this year’s Nyeyi Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The donation included cartons of soft drinks, bottled water, bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, and other provisions to aid preparations for the annual celebration.

Central Regional Minister, Hon. Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, who represented the Vice President, said the festival would provide a platform to highlight development priorities for the community. He pointed to the renovation of the Komenda Sugar Factory and ongoing road projects as key initiatives.

The Paramount Chief of Komenda, Okatakyie Komeh VIII, expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely support for the traditional council’s preparations.

“As custom demands, we brought these items to help Nananom host guests during the festival,” he noted. “We are hopeful that discussions at the durbar will also touch on the Komenda Sugar Factory and the road construction, which is about 65 percent complete.”
