Let’s Not Politicise Helicopter Crash – Acting Chief Justice

Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has urged Ghanaians to remain united and avoid politicising the deaths of the eight people who lost their lives in the August 6 military helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking on Friday, August 8, 2025, after leading a judiciary delegation to lay flowers at the Flagstaff House in honour of the victims — which included two government ministers and other public servants — Justice Baffoe-Bonnie stressed the need for national solidarity.

“These gallant men died in the course of duty, so we must forge ahead in unity and not politicise their death,” he told the media.

“We should reflect on the legacy they left behind and commit ourselves to serving our nation to the best of our abilities.”
