Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has categorically disassociated itself from recent comments made by Ghanaian policy analyst and social innovator, Bright Simons, asserting that he holds no affiliation with the company in any form.
In a formal statement released by the Board of Directors on Sunday, July 13, the mining company addressed increasing public commentary and speculation relating to its ongoing legal and commercial matters involving Engineers & Planners (E&P).
The company emphasized that Mr. Simons’ remarks are entirely his own and should not be construed as representing Azumah Resources’ official stance.
“Mr. Bright Simons does not represent, act for, or speak on behalf of the Shareholders or Directors of Azumah Resources Ghana Limited,” the statement noted.
Azumah Resources confirmed that it is currently involved in confidential and constructive negotiations with Engineers & Planners, under the guidance of relevant regulatory and governmental bodies, with the objective of reaching a mutually beneficial resolution.
“We are committed to handling this matter professionally, transparently, and responsibly,” the company added.
The company also called on media outlets, commentators, and the general public to avoid conjecture or unverified claims that could undermine the ongoing discussions. It urged reliance solely on authorized representatives for accurate information regarding the issue.
In a related clarification, the company responded to the inclusion of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) in public discourse, stating that the Bank had merely shown preliminary interest in the transaction, contingent upon internal approvals. Any assertions beyond this, the firm maintained, were “unauthorised and misleading.”
