Two NPP Members File Court Injunction to Halt Upcoming Delegates Conference

Two members of the  New Patriotic Party (NPP) have filed a motion in the High Court in Accra seeking to block the party’s upcoming Extraordinary National Delegates Conference, citing procedural irregularities.

Shamsudeen Iddrisu and Boateng Kwadwo, represented by legal counsel Agyemang Duah of CharisBrit Legal Consult, lodged the motion for an interlocutory injunction on July 14. The filing requests that the court restrain the NPP from holding the conference, scheduled to take place July 18–20 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

In court  the plaintiffs argue that the party’s planned assembly violates internal procedures and, if allowed to proceed, could undermine a broader legal challenge they have initiated. The case, they contend, raises substantive issues that should be resolved before any major party events are conducted.

The plaintiffs are urging the court to preserve the status quo until the pending legal dispute is adjudicated, warning that moving forward with the conference could prejudice the outcome.
