Minister of Health is expected to receive a formal report today from the committee investigating an alleged assault on medical staff at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital.
The committee was established earlier this month following the circulation of a viral video showing a physical altercation between relatives of a patient and healthcare workers at the hospital’s emergency unit.

The incident, which involved a man identified as Ralph St. Williams, has sparked widespread condemnation and renewed concerns about the safety of frontline medical staff in Ghana’s public hospitals.
The Health Minister visited the hospital shortly after the video surfaced and tasked the committee with uncovering the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
Authorities have confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Further details are expected once the report is submitted.
