The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed that the bodies of all eight personnel who perished in the tragic Z-9 military helicopter crash on Wednesday have been transported to Accra and placed at the 37 Military Hospital ahead of burial arrangements.

The remains were recovered from the crash site near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom district of the Ashanti Region and flown to the capital on the afternoon of August 6, 2025, aboard a Ghana Air Force Casa aircraft.

A solemn reception ceremony was held at the Air Force Base in Accra, where the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Hon. Julius Debrah, joined members of the Military High Command, government officials, and sympathizers to receive the fallen heroes.

In a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the Ghana Armed Forces extended its appreciation to the people of Sikaman and all security agencies who assisted in the recovery operations

The statement also conveyed deep condolences from the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Brogya Genfi, and the Military High Command to the bereaved families, describing the incident as a “painful national tragedy.”
