Police Hold Assurance Parade in Akwatia Ahead of By-Election

The Ghana Police Service on Sunday, August 31, 2025, staged an assurance parade in Akwatia as part of security preparations for the upcoming by-election on Tuesday, September 2.

The exercise, a routine security measure ahead of major polls, was aimed at reassuring residents, stakeholders, and political parties of the police’s readiness to safeguard peace and order before, during, and after voting.

According to the Service, the assurance parade underscores its preparedness to swiftly respond to any disturbances and serves as a deterrent to potential acts of violence or voter intimidation.

The police also used the occasion to remind voters of the need to comply with electoral regulations on election day.

Reiterating their commitment to delivering a peaceful and credible poll, the Ghana Police Service urged the public, political parties, and their supporters to cooperate fully with security personnel to ensure a smooth electoral process.
