Popular Ghanaian actress and television personality Nana Ama McBrown has revealed that she recently underwent her fifth arm surgery, explaining her absence from the public eye and her popular shows.
In a heartfelt TikTok live session, McBrown shared that she has been battling recurring pain and complications related to a previous arm injury, which had made it increasingly difficult for her to work without heavy reliance on painkillers.
“You all saw that my arms were not really looking good. If you watched McBrown’s Kitchen lately, you would see that I was struggling. Those were my last recordings, and before I could finish, I had to take a lot of painkillers,” she disclosed.
According to the actress, her condition had worsened to the point where her arm had become visibly crooked, prompting her doctors to recommend further surgical intervention.
McBrown described the emotional and physical toll the repeated surgeries have taken on her, stating that only those who have experienced similar challenges can fully understand her pain.
“Until you go through a fracture or a surgery like mine, that is how you can understand me. Apart from that, you can’t understand my feeling, the pain I went through,” she said.
Taking the advice of her medical team and loved ones seriously, McBrown stated that she is prioritizing her recoveryand will remain off-screen for the time being to fully heal.
“My doctors and fans have given me a lot of cautions to take care, stay home and heal properly. So I’m going to be home for some time and go through the process of healing,” she added.
The actress also used the opportunity to appeal for prayers and continued support from her fans and well-wishers. She expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming love she has received throughout her journey.
“Thank you all so much. Your messages and prayers keep me strong,” she said.
