Minority Walks Out Ahead of 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review Presentation

Members of the Minority in Parliament staged a walkout on Thursday, July 24, just moments before Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson was set to present the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review.

The protest, which unfolded in the chamber shortly before the scheduled address, was a symbolic gesture by the Minority to register their disapproval—though the specific reasons for the action were not immediately disclosed.

Despite the walkout, proceedings continued as planned, with the Finance Minister delivering the budget statement to the remaining Members of Parliament.

More details are expected to emerge as both sides of the House comment on the development.
