Kumasi Road Crash Leaves Four Nursing Students Critically Injured

Four people have been left in critical condition after a road crash involving a commercial Urvan bus and a school bus at Dichemso Plaza in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, September 17, 2025, when the commercial vehicle, carrying 15 nursing students, collided with the school bus. Fortunately, no pupils were aboard the school bus at the time of the crash.

Eyewitnesses described the impact as severe, with four students sustaining critical injuries. Three of the victims reportedly lost consciousness due to the extent of their wounds. All four were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

Some witnesses at the scene alleged that the Urvan bus driver was overspeeding and should be held responsible for the accident.“The driver of the commercial Urvan bus was overspeeding and should be blamed for the accident,” one eyewitness told Citi News. Another added: “The responsibility lies with the commercial Urvan bus driver.”

Police are yet to issue an official statement on the crash.
