Komenda Sugar Factory, Education, and Infrastructure to Be Prioritised – Vice President Assures

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has reaffirmed government’s commitment to tackling key developmental challenges within the Komenda Traditional Area.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 Komendaman Nyeyi Festival on Saturday, September 13, the Vice President acknowledged concerns about the non-operational Komenda Sugar Factory and other infrastructural gaps, assuring that government is taking steps to address them.

She also commended the Komenda Traditional Council for launching an education fund to support students in the area, describing it as a laudable initiative.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang further pledged that government would contribute to the fund to secure better educational opportunities for the youth, while also prioritising investments in infrastructure and other projects to enhance development in the community.
