The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has paid a moving tribute to the late Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash, describing him as a promising officer whose presence had already begun to make a lasting difference.
Speaking at the state funeral on Friday, August 15, a NADMO representative said on behalf of the organisation:
“He was a promising staff member who made every person feel valued, seen, and appreciated. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life.”
Mr. Aboagye, who had recently served as Deputy Director-General in charge of Protocol, was remembered for his dedication, warmth, and the positive energy he brought to his work. Despite his brief time in the role, colleagues said his influence could already be felt across the organisation.
“Although his time with us was short, his impact will be felt forever,” the representative added. “His greatest strength was his humility; his infectious smile made him approachable and unforgettable. He worked alongside everyone, kept his door open for all, and offered encouragement at every turn.”
In their tribute, NADMO staff celebrated not only Mr. Aboagye’s professional contributions but also the spirit of kindness and optimism that defined him qualities they say will continue to inspire the organisation long after his passing.
