The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 37 new cases of Mpox, bringing the national total to 409 as of August 14, 2025.
According to the GHS, two patients are currently on admission, while the death toll remains at one.
Mpox, a viral disease, spreads through close contact with infected persons, animals, or contaminated materials. Its common symptoms include fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, muscle and back pain, headaches, and fatigue.
Health officials are urging the public to strictly observe preventive measures, such as regular handwashing, avoiding physical contact with individuals showing unexplained rashes or symptoms, and promptly reporting suspected cases to the nearest health facility.
The GHS has intensified surveillance and nationwide public education campaigns as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
