The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended Mr. Mfo Richard Tibetor, a teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region, following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.
In a statement released Thursday, October 2, GES confirmed it had become aware of a troubling video circulating on social media purportedly implicating Mr. Tibetor. The education authority described the behavior as “unacceptable, unethical,” and a “clear violation” of the professional code of conduct for teachers.
Mr. Tibetor has been interdicted and prohibited from entering the school premises pending a thorough investigation into the matter.
GES reassured parents, guardians, and the wider public that student safety and protection remain the organization’s highest priorities. The statement emphasized that any teacher found guilty of compromising student dignity and wellbeing will face strict disciplinary action and legal consequences in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct.
Signed by Daniel Feny, Head of Public Relations at GES, the release reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to maintaining discipline, professionalism, and child protection standards across Ghana’s education system.
