Kofi Akpaloo, presidential candidate and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has allegedly been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Citi News has confirmed.
According to family sources, Mr. Akpaloo was picked up from his residence in Kumasi, though the reasons for his arrest remain unclear. His relatives further indicated that his current whereabouts are unknown.
EOCO has not yet released an official statement, leaving the circumstances surrounding the arrest uncertain.
Mr. Akpaloo, who contested in the 2024 general elections, is a notable figure in Ghana’s political space. He has consistently campaigned on youth-focused policies, and while the LPG remains a relatively small party, it has gradually increased its visibility in national politics.
