Raphael Mensah, the individual wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for his alleged involvement in a corruption-related offense, has returned to Ghana and surrendered to authorities.
The engineer declared wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has returned to Ghana and surrendered to authorities following a public notice issued for his arrest on 8 July 2025.
Mensah was sought in connection with allegations of aiding and abetting the improper use of public office for personal gain, in violation of Sections 20(2) and 179C(a) of the Criminal Offense ces Act, 1960 (Act 29). The OSP described him as a key suspect in a case involving the exploitation of public office for private benefit.
Upon his arrival in the country, Mensah voluntarily presented himself to the OSP and was subsequently arraigned before a court. During proceedings, he was granted bail in the sum of GHS 100,000 with two sureties. As part of his bail conditions, he is required to surrender his passport to the court and report to the OSP every two weeks.
The OSP had earlier appealed to the public for assistance in locating Mensah, sharing contact details for tips and information. His return marks a significant development in a case that has drawn considerable public interest amidst Ghana’s broader anti-corruption campaign.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor has emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
