Black Stars Move Up in FIFA Ranking, Hold 14th Place in Africa

Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, have climbed one spot in the latest FIFA world ranking, moving from 76th to 75th following their recent performances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The improvement comes after Otto Addo’s men recorded mixed results during the September 2025 international window. The Black Stars were held to a draw by Chad before securing a crucial victory over Mali’s Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium, a result that kept them top of Group I in the qualifiers.

Despite the slight progress on the global table, Ghana’s standing in Africa remains unchanged, holding on to 14th place on the continental ranking.

Coach Otto Addo has expressed optimism that the team can build on this momentum to climb further up the global rankings when they return to international duty later this year.
