Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, has agreed to appear before the National Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following allegations of misconduct that have stirred internal tensions within the party.
Mr. Baffoe, who serves as the NPP’s Bono Regional Chairman, was referred to the committee after reportedly making defamatory remarks about fellow party stalwart and presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong, as well as circulating unsubstantiated claims about the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua.
The NPP leadership cited Baffoe’s behavior as “unbecoming” and damaging to the party’s public image. The disciplinary hearing date has yet to be announced.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Mr. Baffoe said he is fully prepared to face the committee and defend his actions. He further claimed to possess evidence of what he described as “antichrist actions” by Mr. Agyapong, which, he alleges, have undermined the unity and integrity of the party.
“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the antichrist actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” Mr. Baffoe stated.
In an unusual move, he has also called for the disciplinary proceedings to be broadcast live, citing the need for transparency and urging that party members nationwide be allowed to observe the process.
The public request adds a new layer of drama to what is shaping up to be a high-profile internal reckoning for the NPP, which faces increasing pressure to maintain unity ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The party has not yet responded to the request for a live broadcast.
