Stonebwoy Reveals Tracklist for New EP The Torcher, Set for September Release

Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Stonebwoy has announced the official tracklist for his forthcoming extended play, The Torcher, slated for release later this month. The nine-track EP will mark his first new project since the release of his 2024 full-length album, Up & Runnin.

The forthcoming release features a mix of solo tracks and collaborations, including the previously released lead single, GidiGidi (Fire). Other titles on the EP include Send Dem A Prayer, Samankudi, Outside Lifestyle, and Deeper. The project will also feature guest appearances from rising Ghanaian artists Beeztrap and Yaw Tog on Susuka, as well as Agbeshie and Kenny Ice on Xosetor.

The artist, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, began teasing the project in mid-August with the release of a motion graphic depicting a burning Ankh — an ancient Egyptian symbol of life — followed by a one-minute visual trailer on September 1. The video included poetic narration reflecting on his artistic evolution and spiritual themes that have become a hallmark of his work.

Stonebwoy, who has remained a visible figure on the international music scene despite an eight-month hiatus from new releases, has spent much of the year touring globally. Following the release of Up & Runnin6, he launched a North American tour with stops in major cities including Toronto, New York, and Silver Spring, culminating in a sold-out performance at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

This summer, the artist headlined several international festivals, including the African Music Festival and Ruhr Reggae Summer Festival in Germany, Reeds Festival in Switzerland, and Dream WKND Festival in Jamaica.

The EP is widely seen as a continuation of Stonebwoy’s efforts to expand the global footprint of Ghanaian music while staying rooted in the rhythms and themes of his homeland.
