A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of Stephen King Amoah, a 38-year-old immigration officer whose charred remains were discovered last month near Kwabenya, intensifying a high-profile murder investigation that has gripped national attention.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Thomas Zigah, also known as Nii Jaase, was arraigned before the Adabraka District Court on Friday, August 22. Details of the charges against Zigah have not yet been made public, but his arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing probe.
Zigah’s apprehension comes weeks after the arrest of the prime suspect, Bright Aweh, who was believed to be the last person in contact with Amoah before his disappearance. Aweh made his initial court appearance on August 8 and was subsequently remanded into police custody for two weeks as investigations continue.
Amoah was reported missing on July 3 after he left his residence to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His burned body was discovered six days later at Abuom Junction, prompting a manhunt and launching what law enforcement has described as an intensive and multi-agency investigation.
Police have yet to disclose a motive, and it remains unclear how the newly arrested suspect may be connected to the crime. The case continues to draw widespread public scrutiny amid calls for accountability and justice.
