A police officer has been confirmed dead following a violent confrontation between rival groups in Sampa, located in the Bono Region.
According to eyewitness reports, a group of masked gunmen stormed parts of the township on Sunday afternoon, firing several shots and sparking widespread panic among residents.
Security has since been reinforced in the area as law enforcement agencies work to restore calm and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The Ghana Police Service is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
