Mahama Pledges Not to Disappoint Ghanaians

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged not to disappoint the nation as he embarks on his post-election “Thank You Tour,” reassuring citizens of his government’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises.

Speaking at a rally in Koforidua, in the Eastern Region, on Sunday, 20 July, President Mahama thanked supporters for the confidence shown in him during the 2024 general elections, which saw him return to power.

“Thanks for the warm reception,” he told the crowd gathered at Jackson Park. “Due to the confidence reposed in me by electing me once again as President, I promise not to disappoint you. With the grace of God, we will fulfil all our promises to the Eastern Region and Ghanaians as a whole.”

The Koforidua event marked a significant stop in the President’s nationwide tour aimed at expressing appreciation to voters and reinforcing his administration’s development agenda.

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) turned out in large numbers, waving party flags and chanting slogans. Regional party executives and local chiefs were also in attendance, many of whom used the occasion to urge the President to prioritise road infrastructure and youth employment in the region.

Mr Mahama reiterated his administration’s focus on inclusive development, promising improvements in healthcare, education, jobs, and infrastructure — key pillars of his campaign platform.

The Thank You Tour continues in other regions in the coming days, as the President seeks to re-engage with communities and affirm his government’s commitment to delivering on its mandate.
