CH Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CH Group, has donated GHC500,000 to the Children Support Fund in support of families of the national heroes who lost their lives in the August 6 helicopter crash.
The contribution was made possible through the collective effort of CH Group’s subsidiaries and affiliates, including Chase Petroleum, Goldkey Properties, Tema Tank Farm, Base Energy, Denton Property Managers, and Surge Microfinance.
According to the Foundation, the donation is intended to ease the burden on families affected by the tragedy, with particular focus on safeguarding the future of the children left behind.
“This gesture reflects our belief that corporate leadership goes beyond business success — it is also about standing with the nation in its most difficult moments,” the Foundation noted.
The Children Support Fund was set up to ensure the dependents of the fallen officers are cared for, with special emphasis on their welfare and education. For CH Group Foundation, this mission directly aligns with its core focus on expanding access to quality education for under-resourced people and communities in Ghana and across Africa.
In a statement, Mr. Kwaku Bediako, Executive Chairman of CH Group, expressed empathy and commitment:
“We mourn with the nation and the families who have lost their loved ones. They made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Our gesture is our way of shining a ray of light in the midst of darkness — ensuring their children are not left behind. Education is at the heart of our Foundation’s work because it is the most enduring legacy we can leave.”
He added that the lives lost remain a testament to service and sacrifice, recalling the comforting words of Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”
