Goldbod Suspends NK Benak Enterprise Licence, Orders Closure of Shops

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the licence of NK Benak Enterprise, a licensed Tier 2 gold buying firm, and ordered the immediate closure of all its trading outlets across the country.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, GoldBod said the decision follows the company’s alleged involvement in multiple gold-related offences.

The sole proprietor of NK Benak Enterprise, Bernard Nkrumah, has been arrested and is currently facing prosecution at the High Court.

GoldBod has warned all licensed traders, miners and members of the public to cease any gold-related transactions with the company.

“Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners, and the general public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with NK Benak Enterprise forthwith,” the statement read.

The regulator said the suspension forms part of efforts to strengthen accountability and transparency in the gold trading sector.

It added that similar action would be taken against any other entities found to be in breach of the industry’s regulations.
