GES Releases 2025 School Placements, Cracks Down on Unauthorized Admissions

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the 2025 school placement results under its Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), issuing a stern directive to education officials and school heads nationwide: adhere strictly to the official placement list or face sanctions.

In a statement signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, Acting Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Access, the GES instructed Regional Directors of Education to notify District Directors and Heads of Schools of the placements. The move marks the beginning of the final stage in the secondary school admission process for the upcoming academic year.

The GES emphasized that no school is authorized to admit students outside of the CSSPS allocation unless granted express written approval by the Service. “All admissions must be based solely on the official placement list,” the directive read. Any deviation, it warned, would result in administrative penalties.

Students who have secured placements are expected to report to their respective schools on October 18, 2025. Heads of institutions have been instructed to conduct registration processes in accordance with detailed guidelines issued by the GES.

In an effort to ensure full compliance, Regional and District Directors have been charged with providing oversight and supervisory support throughout the registration and admission period.

The GES underscored the importance of stakeholder cooperation, describing it as critical to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the placement process.

“This is a pivotal period for the education sector,” the statement noted. “Upholding the sanctity of the placement system is non-negotiable.”

The CSSPS, a centralised algorithm-based system, was implemented to reduce human interference and promote fairness in school admissions. As demand for top-tier schools intensifies each year, GES officials say enforcing compliance has become more crucial than ever.
