The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has commissioned the first-ever clinic at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) to provide comprehensive healthcare services for staff and promote their overall well-being.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Amoakohene said the establishment of the facility underscores his administration’s commitment to prioritising the health needs of workers at the Coordinating Council. He stressed that a healthy workforce is key to productivity and the effective running of government business, as employees perform better when they have convenient access to quality healthcare.
The newly opened clinic will provide primary healthcare services, including general consultations, treatment of minor ailments, routine medical checkups, and health education for staff. The initiative is designed to cut down on absenteeism, enhance efficiency, and create a supportive working environment where employees can thrive.
Dr. Amoakohene further assured that his administration will continue to roll out policies and initiatives that enhance staff welfare and help build a healthier, more effective workforce. He encouraged employees to make good use of the facility and to prioritise their health as part of the region’s broader development agenda.
“We are gathered here this morning to ceremonially open the clinic — the first of its kind at the ARCC. When I assumed office as Regional Minister and interacted with staff, as well as reviewed past incidents, it became clear that the health needs of ARCC workers must be a top priority. There have been situations in the past where staff could not be transported to the hospital in time before tragedy struck. The workload and demands on ARCC staff make it necessary that their health needs are properly catered for,” Dr. Amoakohene explained.
